Congratulations to our newly appointed partners:
Prue Cowin is a new partner in our Melbourne biotechnology team, having joined the firm as a trainee attorney in 2013. She specialises in the preparation and global enforcement of patent portfolios, and regularly counsels clients on freedom to operate, patentability, infringement, and validity issues across key geographic markets such as Australia, Europe, and the US. With an extensive scientific background, Prue focuses on biopharmaceuticals, including antibodies, their uses, and methods for their manufacture. Prue works with a range of clients, including local and overseas companies, to strategically protect their intellectual property and bring their products to market.
Sarah Dixon is a new partner in our Sydney trademarks team, having joined the firm as a Senior Associate in 2021. Her practice includes advising on, prosecuting, managing and enforcing global trademark portfolios for both local and international clients. Her expertise spans various industries, such as fashion, entertainment, celebrity name protection, consumer goods, cosmetics, cannabis, medical devices, and technology. Representing clients ranging from sole traders to large multinational corporations and educational institutions, Sarah's experience in trademarks and related commercial matters extends over fifteen years, and she is known for her responsiveness and her ability to understand and relate to her clients’ needs. She has been endorsed on the WTR 1000 Trademark Prosecution and Strategy recommended list in 2023 and 2024. “Her experience, knowledge, global networks, and strategic thinking guarantee excellent results. She is simply a pleasure to work with,” says a client commendation from WTR 1000 in 2023.
