One of the most rewarding aspects of David’s role is becoming part of his clients’ wider team and achieving results that enhance the value of their businesses.
David has extensive experience in handling the Australian and New Zealand patent prosecution strategy for both local and overseas clients, drafting patent specifications, and providing strategic patent advice. His practice also involves considerable work with oppositions and revocation actions before the Australian (IP Australia) and New Zealand (IPONZ) Patent Offices, and litigation support before the Federal Court of Australia.
David has a PhD in nanomaterials science and his practice reflects his expertise spanning a diverse range of chemical technologies in the materials science and nanotechnology space. He also has a background in medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology, allowing him to work on interdisciplinary projects at the interface of nanotechnology and biotechnology, such as drug delivery and theranostics. David also has a keen interest in the growing radiopharmaceuticals market.
David is also actively engaged with the patent profession, having sat on the committee for the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and regularly writes articles on updates regarding Australian and New Zealand patent practice.
David is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney.
