In recognition of International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) 2022, we asked one of our female engineering partners, Andrea Ruhrmann, what first inspired her to study engineering and her advice for young girls looking to study engineering and related technology subjects.
International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) celebrated on Thursday 23 June, promotes the profile of women in engineering. This year's theme is 'Inventors & Innovators' #ImagineTheFuture. It focuses attention on the amazing career opportunities available to girls in this exciting industry and celebrates the outstanding achievements of women engineers throughout the world.
Female engineers are in high demand, in a wide range of fields, including telecommunications, construction, mining, computer and electrical sciences, and pharmaceutical industries. With the world changing at an exhilarating rate, engineers are capable of thinking creatively and advancing our technologies, therefore playing an important role in shaping our future.
By sharing Andrea Ruhrmann’s experience, we hope to empower more women to study the rewarding field of engineering.
